Dear PKU,
Dear GISA,
Thank you so much for all your efforts in making the semester abroad so unforgettable for all of us! This semester has literally been a blast!
Thanks to your support and the events you organized for us in the beginning, we internationals made good friends at PKU very quickly. Having such wonderful people around made me quickly adapt to the PKU culture and community. Now after these 4 months of exchange, we have not only got to know each other very well but also grew together as a PKU family!
I also like to thank PKU for giving me the opportunity to live on campus with local Chinese students, I really appreciate it! In the beginning, I was a little bit concerned about living with three other people in one room since I was used to my own apartment in Germany; but after moving into dorm No. 32 and meeting my three roommates, I realized that there was nothing better that could have happened to me. The best thing on living on dorms is that you never get bored: roommates dinner, movie nights, late night chats – and most important, you always have someone to talk to and to laugh with.
Regarding some experiences outside of campus, I really enjoyed the sightseeing tours that PKU and GISA organized in the first two weeks (Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City etc.) Moreover, I climbed the Xiangshan Mountain (香山) with some friends, went to the Peking Zoo to see some pandas, experienced nightlife at Sanlitun (三里屯), travelled to Shanghai during Golden Week…
All in all, I saw and experienced many new things on and off campus during my semester at PKU. Time has literally gone by way too fast. I wished the semester would last longer because I have fallen in love with the people and the campus life at PKU and I am not ready to say goodbye yet. Thank you again for everything, PKU and GISA!
