Courses offered–Basic courses:
Required courses:The program offers advanced courses in economics and finance, focusing on fundamental theories and methods of economics, finance and accounting, combined with observation on the ongoing reform and development of China’s economy. Students are promised with a mastery of a solid theoretical knowledge, coupled with a mind that is cultivated attentive and sensitive to the current economic and financial situations and the market. Career Development Strategy is one of compulsory courses for students as well.
General compulsory courses:The MFin Program offers advanced courses in investment management, corporate finance, and financial intermediary. Frontier theories and methods of investment, corporate finance, financial markets and financial institutions will be taught. Students will be further enabled to master the latest developments of the knowledge domain, the advanced skills of analysis and decision-making, and improved abilities to analyze and solve practical problems.
Major elective courses:The MFin Program offers elective courses in investment management, corporate finance, and financial intermediary. Students can choose courses based on their academic background or work on specific courses based on their research interest. Major Elective Courses emphasize more on professionalism and applicability.
Practice courses:In collaboration with finance practice experts or institutes, courses are set up to guide students to solve practical problems in investment management, corporate financing, and financial institution management. For example, in 2014, we joined Citibank to open a course named “Commercial Bank Lectures.” In 2016, we, in collaboration with Shanghai Stock Exchange, set up the “Financial Engineering” course. Meanwhile, we also have oversea courses for students to develop their international perspectives.

4.Career Path
More than 95% of our graduates directly get employed following graduation. Since 2004, graduates of Guanghua MFin have joined famous international investment banks such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co and HSBC; famous domestic and international fund companies, such as China AMC, Harvest Fund and China Southern Asset Management, and also major domestic securities firms such as CICC, CITIC Securities, Shenyin & Wanguo Securities, and Guotai Junan Securities. Graduates now have their presence across the world including the US, Europe, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and other parts of the world.
About 5% of graduates go abroad to pursuePh.D degrees.
About 5% of graduates go abroad to pursue PhD degrees.
5.Fees and Funding
Fees:CNY 64,000 each year,128,000 in all for two years.
Funding: International students of Peking University can, before entering the university, apply for Chinese Government Scholarship, Beijing International Student Scholarship, Peking University Scholarship for International Students. After admission, there will still be opportunities to apply for Beijing International Students Scholarship and other financial aid based on academic performance and other comprehensive performance.
